Hospitality and Tourism, Certificate of Completion

The Hospitality and Tourism Certificate of Completion is a two-term program that prepares students for careers in the dynamic hospitality and tourism industry. The courses provide a solid foundation of skills required in the hospitality industry. Students will study hospitality operations, marketing, event planning, customer service and interpersonal relations. An overview of the hospitality industry and various employment and educational opportunities will also be explored.

Jobs are available in lodging, casinos, restaurants, resorts, cruise ships, event planning, convention services, sales and marketing, bed and breakfasts, and other areas. Types of employment range from front office, marketing and guest services to entry level supervision. Many hospitality careers have competitive benefits and wages with the opportunity for rapid advancement. Students wanting to continue their education beyond the certificate should meet with the Business & Information Technology academic advisor or program chair for more information about the Hospitality and Tourism Associate of Arts degree and other transfer programs.

Program Proficiencies

Students must demonstrate proficiency in these areas either by placement scores  or specific course work.
