LEA 1016 - Criminal Investigations for Law Enforcement
3credit hour(s)Corequisite:HLTH 1003 + LEA 1004 + LEA 1005 + LEA 1006 + LEA 1007 + LEA 1008 + LEA 1009 + LEA 1010 + LEA 1014 + LEA 1015 This course introduces the student to criminal investigations within the various local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies as it applies to law enforcement and meets all criminal investigations learning objectives established by the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy for Basic Police Officer Training. Emphasis is given to the theory, techniques, aids, technology, collection, and preservation procedures that ensure evidentiary integrity. Courtroom evidentiary procedures and techniques will be introduced. This course includes exercises and practical demonstrations related to criminal investigations.
