2credit hour(s)Corequisite:HLTH 1003 + LEA 1004 + LEA 1006 + LEA 1007 + LEA 1008 + LEA 1009 + LEA 1010 + LEA 1014 + LEA 1015 + LEA 1016 This course provides students with an introduction to the mission, objectives, and rules and regulations of the law enforcement academy. It will also cover topics such as law enforcement history, cultural diversity, ethics and standards of performance, and the criminal justice system in the State of New Mexico. This course meets all requirements established by the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy for Basic Police Officer Training.
