Provides students who have successfully completed the Nursing Assistant course with instruction and laboratory practice of the skills and knowledge needed to function as a Patient Care Tech in the acute care setting. Theory provides instruction on medical terminology, medical abbreviations and health unit coordinator skills. Lab provides instruction and practice of sterile technique, venipuncture, urinary catheterization, sterile wound care and point of care testing.
