3credit hour(s)Prerequisite: (IRW 0980 + MATH 0980 ) or appropriate placement score This course broadly poses the question: how do we plan for, design and build a sustainable future? Beginning with an overview of the earth’s climate system, building sector economics, and the social responsibilities of design and planning, students will study sustainable construction practices. Students will become familiar with current initiatives and strategies for addressing these issues. By the end of the course, students will be able to implement their knowledge using industry specific metrics to create and evaluate projects.
