Program Description
The Associate of Arts Degree in Physics affords students a rigorous curriculum that represents the equivalent of the first two years of a baccalaureate degree in physics. Incorporated into the degree are the basic physics, chemistry and mathematics courses that form the foundation of a physics baccalaureate degree. The program is versatile and prepares students for transfer to a fouryear institution where they can pursue a baccalaureate in either physics, astronomy or geophysics.

Career and Educational Opportunities
In general, the Associate of Arts degree in Physics provides the necessary foundation for pursuing a career in scientific research, engineering or science education. Specifically, the degree provides the preparation students require to continue their studies in physics, astronomy or geophysics at a four-year institution. The course work in this degree will transfer to other institutions of higher learning.
