1credit hour(s)Prerequisite:Math Skills 2 Alg + Reading and Writing Skills 2 Pre- or corequisite: (HLED 1111 or HLED 1117) Corequisite:MAST 1110 + MAST 1120 + MAST 1120L + MAST 1520 + MAST 1540 Provides hands-on practice of specimen collection, processing CLIA-waived tests in the clinical laboratory; setting up and assisting with multiple screening tests, and sterilizing equipment. Special attention is placed on empathy for the patient’s concerns, critical thinking skills, quality control, documentation, and laboratory safety.
