2credit hour(s)Prerequisite:DMSO 1115 + DMSO 1120 + DMSO 1125 + DMSO 1130 + DMSO 1193 Corequisite:DMSO 1525 + DMSO 1530 + DMSO 1590 + DMSO 1593 The emphasis of this course is on recognizing the anatomy, physiology and pathology of the following as they relate to sonographic imaging: breast, musculoskeletal system, gastrointestinal system, non-cardiac chest, superficial and retroperitoneal structures, abdominal wall, cavities and vasculature. The sonographer’s role in ultrasound-guided procedures as well as pre- and post-organ transplant imaging will also be presented. Laboratory tests, signs and symptoms of disease will be discussed. Scanning techniques and protocols will be included.
