2credit hour(s)Prerequisite:MECH 1041 This course prepares students to troubleshoot and remedy faults in alternating current (AC) and direct-current (DC) electric motor control circuits and AC variable frequency drives. Skills include adhering to troubleshooting safety rules, motor control system troubleshooting, component-level testing, and using digital multimeters, clamp-on ammeters, and programmable logic controller (PLC) status indicators for fault identification.

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be prepared to pass the SACA C-204 Motor Control Troubleshooting 1 and C-303 Electric Motor Troubleshooting 1 Certification Exams.
