MECH 1041 - Introduction to Electric Motor Control

Pre- or corequisite: MECH 1001  or MECH 1005  
This course prepares students to connect, configure, adjust, and operate electrical motor control circuits and AC variable frequency motor drives using these electrical components: 3-phase AC motors, reversing magnetic motor starters with overloads, drum switches, control relays, timer relays, pushbutton switches, selector switches, limit switches, pressure switches, and float switches. 

Note(s):
  • Upon successful completion of this course the student will be prepared to pass the SACA C-202 Electrical Motor Control Systems 1 and the SACA C-203 Variable Frequency Drive Systems 1 Certification Exams.
