DA 2508 - Practice Management and Oral Health Promotion
2credit hour(s)Pre- or corequisite:DA 1512 + DA 2090 + DA 2510 + (ENGL 1110 + ENGL 1110P) This course provides basic skills and background in various aspects of dental reception functions and office management procedures. There is a focus on public health and oral health promotion with an emphasis on community engagement and outreach. Topics to be discussed are telecommunications, appointment management systems, inventory systems and supply ordering, insurance, bookkeeping, and planning and managing a career path. Course activities include the design of students’ professional resumes and job interviews.
