3credit hour(s)Prerequisite:HLTH 1010 + PSG 1535 + PSG 1590 + (COMM 1130 or COMM 2120 or COMM 2140 or COMM 2180 or COMM 2160). Pre- or corequisite:Humanities Requirement + PSG 2045 + PSG 2090. Review of sleep therapies to include medical treatment of insomnia, hypersomnia, Restless Legs Syndrome, Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, Rapid Eye Movement Sleep Behavior Disorder, Parasomnias. The topics will include CPAP/BIPAP titration, artifact recognition and troubleshooting of sleep results and maintenance of equipment. Artifact recognition, obstructive sleep apnea, related breathing disorders, montages and protocols, scoring, MLST and MWT, as well as, lab management.
