Earning a certificate in Engineering Technology prepares the learner to apply for jobs and internships in industries that that focus on the manufacture/fabrication of semiconductors, solar cells, nano-materials, structures and components.
Learners will gain the foundational understanding and hands-on skills needed for working in the manufacturing settings and research facilities that create these products.

Depending on location of employment, security clearance may need to be obtained. Persons with criminal backgrounds or felony convictions may not be able to obtain clearance, or pass background checks.

Local Industry partners include, but are not limited to, Sandia National Labs, Los Alamos National Labs, Air Force Researach Laboratory, Ebon Solar, Maxeon, RocketLab, Blue Halo, 3D-Glass Soln., Intel and other workforce partners. These partners have a high interest in learners with knowledge and skills in semiconductors, nanofabrication, and related abilities that supports learners pursuing a credential that specifically prepares them for these fields of work.
Job postings in New Mexico for persons with these skills are expected to range from 200-300 per year.
