This certificate program is designed to provide the necessary skills and qualifications to begin work as a New Mexico Public Safety Telecommunicator. Students will be required to complete the following prerequisites for the program before enrolling in the CNM required courses: FEMA ICS 100.B: Introduction to Incident Command System, FEMA ICS 200.B: Incident Command for Single Resource and Initial Action Incidents, FEMA ICS 700.A: National Incident Management System, an Introduction, and FEMA ICS 800.B: National Response Framework, and Introduction.
Although the program is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid, there are some possible outside funding options (i.e. VA, DVR, institutional funding, etc.). For more information go to http://www.cnm.edu/depts/financial-aid.
Public Safety 911 Dispatcher Certificate of Achievement
Upon completion of this certificate, students will have obtained the qualifications required for a New Mexico Public Safety Telecommunicator required by the New Mexico Department of Public Safety training standards. This certificate is designed for students already employed by local and regional agencies to obtain telecommunicator certification.
