Upon successful completion of this program, the students will be able to:
Communicate results of GIS-based research to technical and non-technical audiences.
Conduct spatial analysis.
Create image data using remote sensing techniques.
Demonstrate understanding of theoretical concepts related to geographic data including spatial references, data models, data file structures and database management.
Obtain, process and create GIS data layers appropriate to a particular research topic using a variety of techniques including field data collection, downloading from Internet, manual digitizing and other methods.
