Optical Dispensing Advanced Level Certification, Certificate of Completion

Description

This program provides students the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to work at an advanced level in optical dispensing.  The entry-level, Optical Dispensing Basic Level Certificate must be completed prior to enrollment in this certificate.

Standard eyewear and contact lens dispension are covered. Upon completion of the certificate students will be eligible to take the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) Advanced certification exams.

Career Opportunities in Optical Dispensing

This certificate provides students who already have the entry-level Basic Level Certification in Optical Dispensing the opportunity to gain the knowledge and technical skills to work as advanced-level technicians in optician’s offices, eyewear manufacturing plants and retail eyewear sites. Emphasis is on both traditional eyewear and contact lens dispensing. Graduates are eligible for advanced credentialing by the American Board of Opticianry and the National Contact Lens Examiners (ABO-NCLE)
