Program Profile

Program Description

Our mission is to provide students with the necessary knowledge, essential skills, and leadership abilities in order to contribute to a construction team. Emphasis is placed on developing the skills necessary to use state of the art technology.

Students are eligible for the Student Excellence Awards and Student Academic Achievement Certificates.

We ensure program academic quality improvement through assessment of both program core and exit competencies.

This program is the only accredited two-year program in New Mexico, and is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).

Skills needed for success

  •  Level of experience for entering students varies; it is recommended for new students to meet with the program representative to develop an appropriate schedule.

Program Information

This program is a

  • Graduates are prepared for entry-level management and supervisory employment in the construction industry, including positions such as: general contractor, estimator, project manager, inspector, office manager, crew leader, expeditor, superintendent, sales representative, and safety officer.
    Employment may be available working for general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, homebuilders, and other businesses.

  • Immediate employment in a entry level positions in the construction management profession.

  • Follow course catalog recommendations to avoid scheduling problems.

Program Requirements

Students are expected to purchase textbooks and USB flash drives.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time. Ability to work outside with Surveying equipment for extended periods of time.

Information for people with felony convictions

  • A felony conviction will not prevent entry into the program or employment; however, it may limit available employment opportunities.
