EDUC 2842 - Content-specific Methods for Diverse Learners

Prerequisite: EDUC 2285  
Examines research-based instructional methods specific to candidates’ secondary licensure areas. Course competencies are aligned to state standards and emphasize pedagogical content knowledge, disciplinary literacy, academic language development, and culturally responsive practice. Candidates analyze how students learn within their discipline, address common misconceptions, and apply instructional routines and assessment strategies appropriate to diverse secondary classrooms. The course requires candidates to plan, teach, and receive feedback on instruction in their specific content area. Post-baccalaureate course for teacher licensure.
