BUSA 1410 - Introduction to Insurance and Risk Management

BUSA 1410 is an introductory course providing students with an overview of specific topics concerning what insurance is, who provides it, and how it is regulated. This course also describes the functions of marketing, underwriting, rate making and claims, all of which are essential to providing insurance. The course provides a broad overview and introduction to the risk management process and its purpose, the elements of loss exposures, and the characteristics and provisions of insurance policies.
