3credit hour(s)Prerequisite:HIT 1030 + HIT 1060 + MATH 1350 This course focuses on healthcare statistics, research and the practical application of health information concepts as they apply to health record systems and the healthcare industry; to include Institutional Review Board policies and processes, collection, retrieval and computation of hospital statistical data, as well as vital statistics and reportable diseases and conditions. This course recommends having basic knowledge of applying formulas, sorting data, formatting cells and managing spreadsheets to analyze and calculate data.
