PHED 1630 - Career Fitness: Fitness for Public Safety Professionals
2credit hour(s)This course will provide students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to become physically fit in preparation of becoming a public safety professional. The class will include both classroom curriculum which will be reinforced by practical exercise skills specific to public safety. Both classroom and field practicum will focus on the essential components of public safety fitness to include, aerobics, muscular strength & endurance, core strength and stability and flexibility. In addition, students will learn about public safety wellness including basic nutritional needs, hydration and rest and include specific preparation for taking the required Work Capacity Test.
