3credit hour(s)Prerequisite: Acceptance into the alternative licensure program Examines the historical, philosophical and social paradigms that define the modern teaching profession. Course competencies are built upon national, state, and professional standards and include understanding the need to develop and refine beliefs, goals, and strategies for effective teaching practice, the value of diversity in education, and the ethics of professional practice. Students participate in a 25-hour school-based practicum.
