3credit hour(s)Prerequisite: Department Approval Students will analyze and evaluate oral and written communication in terms of situation, audience, purpose, aesthetics, and points of view. They will employ writing and/or speaking processes such as planning, collaborating, organizing, composing, revising, and editing to create oral presentations using correct diction, syntax, grammar, and mechanics. Instructors will use a variety of foundational texts, essays, articles, and literary works to support various writing and speaking activities.
Students who have passed ENG 1101 or ENG 1101P with a B or better, and a GPA of 3.2 or higher after 9 semester credit hours, or graduates of high school honors programs are eligible. Invitations to the Honors program are sent out prior to registration each semester.
