3credit hour(s)The student will learn the basic techniques related to behavior management and crisis intervention. Students are introduced to the basic skills and practices, which will enable the officer to bring disputes under control, manage conflict and recognize/handle situations involving suicidal persons. Students are also presented with an overview of mental disorders, physical disabilities and communications disorders that may be encountered by police officers.
