TLOL 1010 - Introduction to Teaching and Learning Online

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Discuss the importance of faculty presence in the online learning environment.
  2. Discuss the alignment of good teaching principles with the use of technology.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to utilize Blackboard tools for teaching online; Discussions, Mail, Gradebook, Learning Modules, Assignments, Assessments, etc.
  4.  Modify a syllabus and upload it into Blackboard.
  5. Provide feedback within a discussion topic.
  6. Create a feedback and communication plan for online learning.
  7. Discuss the importance of timely, ongoing, and constructive feedback to support student learning.
  8. Grade an assignment using the assignment tool in Blackboard.
  9. Utilize the QM rubric to assess a peers blackboard shell and provide feedback.

Course Description
Intended for higher education faculty or public school teachers interested in teaching online, this course provides for a basic introduction to online teaching and learning, with a focus on developing the knowledge and skills for effectively engaging students utilizing tools in the Blackboard web-based learning management system.
