ARDR 1402 - A/E/C Software for Commercial Building SystemsStudent Learning Outcomes
- Navigate and make use of the Revit Interface to navigate building systems and the BIM (building information model). (CC#1)
- Define and describe the four major Revit Elements. (CC#2)
- Utilize basic architectural, structural, and MEP selecting, sketching, modifying, and modeling tools to create various building model components, assemblies, systems, and drawings in addition to navigating the model. (CC#3)
- Demonstrate placement and modification of families and their properties (both system and component families). (CC#4)
- Associate host and component elements with a datum such as reference lines, grids, and constraint levels. (CC#5)
- Create various model, drafting, legend, and schedule views and control the properties of these views—e.g. graphic display, phase, and discipline. (CC#6)
- Create sheets and compose views on sheets. (CC#7)
- Apply dimension and annotate to models, draftings, and other views. (CC#8)
- Create, organize, and edit distinct types of schedules. (CC#9)
- Produce work in analogue and digital—pdf—formats/reports. (CC#10)
- Demonstrate successful use of software reference materials. (CC#11)
- Demonstrate Revit worksharing, linking and importing files, basic model maintenance, phasing, design options, and the Copy/Monitor workflows. (CC#12)
- Prepare Revit files for use in the following disciplines: structural, architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical. (CC#13)
Course Description Students will be given training exercises tailored to issues the A/E/C industry faces when working on commercial single-occupant development that require software support to solve. Multiple software will be engaged to complete the exercises, including 2d, 3d, BIM, rendering, layout, and others.
