ESH 1040 - Energy Conservation Opportunities in Building Systems
3credit hour(s)(Prerequisite: ESH 1020 or ESH 1030 or Department Approval)
Introduce to commercial and residential building systems. Covers the operation, maintenance and efficiency of building components and how they affect overall building gas, electricity and water use. The energy cycle will be studied with an emphasis on sustainability and identifying and minimizing wasted energy within buildings. This course will prepare the student for careers working on energy saving components It is an important preparation class for certification courses toward Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) HERS, Building Performance Institute, BPI,and North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP)
