Focuses on developing coding skills and the application of those skills to different types of medical records in a simulated work environment. Students code inpatient, emergency division, outpatient surgery and outpatient medical records. The process of interpreting medical record information, choosing the required coding classification and assigning and sequencing codes correctly is addressed. Note(s) 15 theory + 45 lab hours
