Provides an overview of literacy and language development and focuses on the development and implementation of an integrated curriculum approach that emphasizes the importance of reading and writing within the curriculum and across content areas. Expects students will explore and practice in the field alternative reading assessments (i.e., miscue analysis, rubrics, checklists, anecdotal records, portfolios and reading logs/journals).
