0credit hour(s) This course is for students preparing for the high school equivalency exam. Emphasis is placed on improving reading and writing skills while studying the content areas of social studies, science, literature, and technical/workplace subjects. Informational texts will be used for approximately 75% of this course, with equal time spent on social studies, science, and technical/workplace topics. A minor theme of literature will be included. A multi-level approach to teaching, accommodating students from 4th to 12th grade reading levels, will be taken as needed.
