ASTR 1110 - Introduction to Astronomy II

Prerequisite: RDG 0950  + MATH 0940  or appropriate placement scores . Recommended: ASTR 1192 .*

Explores life cycles of stars and stellar systems and the structure of the universe. Focuses on the births, lives and deaths of stars, the nature of the Milky Way galaxy and current concepts on cosmology and the large-scale structure of the universe.

*It is recommended that students take ASTR 1192  concurrently with the lecture. The lab experience serves to enhance the student’s understanding of the concepts discussed in the lecture.
