Focuses on the guidelines and conventions used in coding diagnoses and procedures using the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) Clinical Modifications (CM), Volumes 1, 2 and 3. Using case scenarios, students interpret medical record information, choose the required coding classification and assign and sequence codes.
