Focused Course examines one or more topics applying all elements of sustainability (environmental, economic, and social) as a fundamental aspect of the course (i.e. most environmental/natural science courses explore all areas in depth in relation to at least one topic). Or covers a broad range of topics using sustainability lens (i.e. intro to sustainability or environmental planning).

Related Course examines one or more topics as it relates to at least one element of sustainability (i.e. a course that discusses social implications of technology), or uses a course element to discuss environmental impacts, such as in a focused assignment.
