Note: The changes detailed here update the CNM Catalog edition designated 2015 - 2016 CNM Catalog April 2015, Volume 48. This edition as amended remains the official CNM Catalog for Academic Year 2015-2016.

 

Corrections to Programs of Study

Accounting Certificate of Completion: Total credits required for the certificate were corrected from 49 to 48-49 to reflect the credit range in the AAS Math requirement.

Baking Certificate of Completion: Credit hours for the certificate has been wrongly listed as 27-29 were corrected to show 24-28 hours total credits.

Biotechnology AS: The Special Requirements section was emended to clarify the course sequencing necessary to complete the degree in the timeliest manner.

Community Dental Health Coordinator, Certificate of Completion: Total credit hours corrected from 31 to 25 credit hours.

Computer Information Systems AAS, Network Administration Concentration: Total credits for the degree were recalculated to at 62-64, rather than 62-63, reflecting the credit range in the AS Math and AS Science requirements.

Construction Estimating and Scheduling Certificate of Completion: Total credit hours for the certificate were corrected to read 30 credits rather than 32.

Construction Management Technology AAS: Total credit hours for the degree were corrected to read 73 credits rather than 75.

Culinary Arts AAS, Advanced Baking and Pastry Concentration: Under Program Approved Electives, the abbreviation for Fitness Technician was corrected to read FITT.

Electrical Trades Certificate of Completion, Photovoltaic Installation Concentration: The Journeyman Electrical Certificate designation was corrected to read JB98.

Environmental Planning & Design AA: PSY 2200 Statistical Principles was substituted for PSY 2220 Developmental Psychology in Program Approved Electives/Community & Regional Planning.

Fine Arts AA, Art Studio Concentration: ARTS 2205, which was already included in Term 2, was removed from the list of Program Approved Electives.

Fitness Technician, Certificate of Completion: FITT 1210 Group Exercise Leadership was added to Term 2 to replace deactivated course FITT 2492; total certificate credits were changed from 31-37 credit hours to 32 credit hours.

Hospitality and Tourism, AA: Total credits for the degree were recalculated, changing from 64-65 to 63-66 to reflect credit ranges of science-lab combinations. In addition, Term 3 and Term 4 were edited to reflect this credit range: “Biological/Physical Science Approved Elective with lab 4-5 credit hour(s).”

Integrated Studies AAS: Total credits for the degree were recalculated, changing from 60-62to 60-63 to reflect credit ranges of AAS Math requirements and Choice requirement options.

Machine Tool Technology AAS: AT 1005, MATT 2096-2996, and WELD 1062 were removed from Term 4 and redesignated as Program Approved Electives - Term 4 options.

Nursing AAS, NMNEC Concentration: An incorrect capstone course, NRSG 2999, was replaced with the correct capstone course, NRSG 2899. Total credit hours for the degree were not affected by the substitution.

Optical Dispensing Basic Level Certification: AAS Mathematics Requirement 3-4 credit hour(s) was added to Term 2; this course had been dropped from the listing and its restoration does not affect program credit hours.

Paralegal Studies AAS: Total credit hours correct from 73 to 66-67 credit hours.

Pharmacy Technician Certificate of Completion: Program description was updated to include the state-required reference New Mexico statute 61-11-11.1

Pre-Health Science AA, Pre-Emergency Medical Services Concentration: HLTH 1001 was changed from prerequisite status and added to Term 3; this increased the credit total for the degree from 61-62 hours to 62-63 credit hours.

Respiratory Therapy AAS: Total credit hours corrected from 68-39 to read 72-73 credit hours.

Welding Certificate of Completion:  AT 1005, MATT 1060, WELD 1062, and WELD 2096-2996 were removed from Term 3 and redesignated as Program Approved Electives - Term 3 options.

Welding Technology AAS: AT 1005, MATT 1060, WELD 1062, and WELD 2096-2996 were removed from Term 4 and  redesignated as Program Approved Electives - Term 4 options.

Welding Technology, AAS: In Term 4, OSH 2030 was moved to its appropriate placement as the course alternative for OSH 2010.

Welding Technology, AAS: Total credit hours for the degree were corrected to read 63-64 credits rather than 64-65.

Changes dated 8-13-15:

The descriptions for following programs were edited to note that, “Some programs are not eligible for financial aid or eligibility may be pending.” In these five cases eligibility is pending federal authorization.

ARTH 2202 - The spelling of rococo in the course description was corrected.

AVMT 1270 - Course title changed from Basic Elect II to Basic Electricity II.

BIO 2710 - The recommended course was corrected, from BIO 2710 to BIO 2292.

BIOT 1020 - Note added to indicate this course is typically offered in the Summer Term.

BIOT 2110 - Note added to indicate this course is typically offered in the Fall Term.

BIOT 2210 - Note added to indicate this course is typically offered in the Spring Term.

CAD 1001 - Incorrect notes were removed from course description.

CJ 2697 - Course description changed from 0 credit hour(s) to 1-6 credit hour(s).

CJ 2698 - Course description corrected to read 3 credit hour(s).

EHR 1090 - Course description updated to reflect the 180 practicum hours included as part of coursework. Course credit hours were unaffected by this change.

EHR 2290 - Course description updated to reflect the 180 practicum hours included as part of coursework. Course credit hours were unaffected by this change.

EHR 2292 - Course description updated to reflect the 45 lab hours included as part of coursework. Course credit hours were unaffected by this change.

EMS 1092 - Course description was edited to remove a note that was duplicative of other content.

ENGR 2810 - Course description was updated to include previously omitted prerequisite, MATH 1715.

FILM 1003 - Course description was rewritten to clarify course content.

FS 2530 - Added number of credit hour(s): 3

FS 2815: Course description change to correct credit hours from 2 to 3.

MATT 2005 - Course description updated to reflect current software taught in coursework.

MATT 2140 - Course description rewritten to reflect updated course content.

MLT 2712 - Advanced MLT Topics and Exam Preparation: After having been initially omitted, the course description as follows was added: “Includes topics such as emerging laboratory technologies, laboratory regulation, personnel qualifications, day-to-day operations, responsible research and national MLT certification exam preparation.”

NUTR 1091 - The pre- or corequisites were punctuated for greater clarity.

SOC 2999 - SOC 2280 was removed as a pre- or corequisite course.

SPT 1110 - Flexible Endoscope Reprocessing: Lab/Theory hours were specified as 15 theory/45 lab, after having been omitted initially.

VT 2610 Clinical Pathology for Vet Techs II: Course credit hours were corrected, from 3 credit hours to 4 credit hours.

VT 2674 - Applied Therapeutics and Care for Veterinary Technicians I: Course Theory hours were corrected, from 30 to 15.

WELD 1040 - A note was added to reflect that 15 theory hours and 45 lab hours are included as coursework. Course credit hours were unaffected by this change.

DETC Various - The “Note(s)” section of the following Diesel Equipment Technology courses were amended to reflect the lab hours included as coursework: DETC 1192, DETC 1292, DETC 1392, DETC 1492, DETC 1592, DETC 1193, DETC 1293, DETC 1393, DETC 1493, DETC 1593, DETC 2194, DETC 2294, DETC 2394, and DETC 2494.
