Program Profile

Program Description

This program combines the advanced, and the proven processes of the manufacturing skill set needed to gain and succeed the industry of Machine Tools.

Skills needed for success

  • Math Proficiency - Students with this level of proficiency are able to do all required Algebra and Trigonometry Calculations needed to successfully complete the projects.
  • Problem Solving Proficiency - Students with this level of proficiency are able to solve basic mechanical processes, mechanical set-ups, problem solving skills to complete the projects.

This program is a

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree and a Certificate of Completion Program

This program can be completed

  • Part-Time or Full-Time

This program is designed for

  • Immediate employment in the machine tool industry.

Program can be started

  • In Fall or Spring.

  • Follow course catalog recommendations to avoid scheduling problems.

Program Requirements

Students are expected to purchase textbooks, tools and personal safety equipment.

Physical requirements

  • Normal body strength. Ability to work in a social environment. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to work in a noisy environment.

  • A felony conviction will not prevent entry into the program or employment; however, it may limit available employment opportunities.

Prospects for Employment
  • Good, every state in the Union has manufacturing.

  • Machinist, Machine Operator, Tool and Die, Journeyman, Proto-type Machinist, Aerospace Machinist, and Owner.
Sample Job Duties
  • Manufacture piece parts, small assemblies, large assemblies, lead small to large groups of personal to succeed in the manufacturing process.

  • Ability to show up on time, and every day as needed. Ability to work with others.

  • Entry level pay for graduates begins at $12.00 to $19.00 per hour.
