Prepares speakers of other languages for first-year college composition by providing practice of the rhetorical and grammatical skills necessary to write purposeful, reader-centered essays. Covers effective use of a writing process in out-of-class essays and in timed, in-class situations. Incorporates readings for discussion of ideas and for information to be used in student’s writing.
